ART EXHIBITION JUROR
MY OWN QUALIFICATIONS
I have participated in many high end art exhibitions in Canada, New Your City, Paris
and China and so have been exposed to many variation in styles, genres and quality.

Furthermore I have frequently been the Juror for many exhibitions in Canada and
most notably, because I won First Prize in Figure Drawing in the Louve/Carrousel (twice),
Paris, I was invited back as one of an international group of Jurors for the Louvre/Carrousel.
MY JUROR PROCESS
In my own experience as one of the artists in exhibitions, the Juror's choices were often a mystery.
One time I entered a 7ft statue of a rather sexy Go GO Dancer in a search for the best upcoming artists under the age of 30. The Curator for the Museum of London, Ontario told me beforehand that if it were accepted they would like to purchase it for their permanent collection.
I was somewhat surprised until I found out that the Juror was a designer of postage stamps. This taught me that it would be a kindness if a Juror declares his/her own tastes and preferences.
1. Since then I always give each participant such a personal declaration.
2. More than that, I fill out for each and every participant the completed form below with my rating of their painting(s) of 1 to 10 per piece so that they have some measure of why they won or lost prizes.
3. Then I give a tour of the award winning pieces to discuss each as to why I chose for each award.
I have received lots of sincere feedback on how valuable that assessment is.

Some of the pricing factors are time required, especially the lead time between when I receive the last entry to the deadline for my results, # of art works to be Juried and are they online or must I travel, how many awards are to be decided, etc. I take the task responsibly including respecting the artists and taking full responsibilty for the choosing off the shoulders of the oraganizers.
