The University of Guelph commissioned, an art student, to create this mural of Canadian History for Expo'67.  It was so large I have to get permission of the Veterinarian College next door to use the central  hallway lined on both sides by cattle and horses during the night. So every night for months the animals were my very excellent companions.

This 120ft x 15ft  wire mural had silhouettes on the back and colour tissue papers attached to the front painted over as a huge abstract.    In behind were colour lights. When those  lights were off, one could see only a gigantic abstract; but, when the room was darkened, and the rear light panels brought up, the mural was a sea of transparent colours with shapes of Canadian culture. Before it was to be shipped to Montreal, it was the backdrop too the Foormal Dance and wrapped around three sides of the auditorium. At first the lights in the back were of so the mural looked like a gigantic abstract. While dancing I could hear the others running it down as crap art.  t half time, the project was announced. The auditorium lights were dimmed and the strong lights behind the mural slowly brightened. The crowd cheered! That was a good moment for me.

Regrettably there is no complete photo. The few fragments below (with gaps) are aligned from West (BC) to  East (PEI Confederation)
